In this virtual writing workshop…

We’ll be focusing on the emotion judgement and how it affects our inner landscape and the world we’ve created. We’ll greet the emotion, then sit with it before we converse and hang out for a bit. Once we’re finished with our time together, we say goodbye and give gratitude (both to ourselves and judgement). Overtime, our work lies in reframing our opinions and biases certain emotions and better understanding how our emotions work to support us.

This workshop was created to help you cultivate a road map (that works for YOU) when processing your emotions, in particular, judgement. Personifying to Process will guide you through creative writing exercises and journal prompts that cultivate your tool-belt of well-being and self-care through vulnerable and humble writing practices.

I am here as your guide, your cheerleader, your supporter and your friend. Throughout the entire course, I make a commitment to hold space and listen.

My Why...

Writing and the written word has forever been a home for me and something that I love connecting with others on. During challenging times, I find simple and honest journal prompts to yield some of the most profound and freeing reflections. I find that creative writing and taking a different view on something I’ve come across many times before offers playfulness, joy and internal shifts. Emotions have intrigued me since I was a child and personifying them to better understand them has shown to be one of my favorite ways of writing (and processing). This course is born from my interest in mental health, holistic well-being and the art of writing.

Today, I am honored and excited to offer virtual writing courses for the people who are looking to evolve their self-care, self-compassion and writing practice in a new way. These virtual sessions allow even the busiest person to tune in and hear themselves through cultivating a writing practice that gives permission to be human. Personifying to Process was intentionally created to enhance the lives of those who join us, in a way that is accessible, affordable, supportive, and grounded in simplicity and compassion.

"A beautiful journey I hope to continue exploring..."

Devon's ability to create a sanctuary from which emotions could be processed was exactly what my soul was needing. She guides you through a very gentle, thoughtful process, ultimately coming out on the other side with deeper insight and compassion for oneself and the emotion we explored. A beautiful journey I hope to continue exploring.

"My heart is warmer, my steps are lighter my words are kinder after this lovely course."

Devon has such depth and light, you want to be on whatever journey she is willing to share!! If it is a course that will lead to enlighten and evolution, what could be better? Thank you. My heart is warmer, my steps are lighter my words are kinder after this lovely course.

"...such unique, wonderful prompts that helped me tap into my imagination in a way that felt raw and effortless."

Devon's Personifying to Process course on Hope was enlightening and healing and also playful. I do not consider myself a writer, so I felt nervous about the creative writing process, but she provides such unique, wonderful prompts that helped me tap into my imagination in a way that felt raw and effortless. I walked away from the course feeling like I better understood my relationship with Hope.

Our Process Over 4 Weeks...

This course will lead you in deep journaling, creative and imaginative writing, and supportive reflection over the next 4 weeks. I created the space for this course, but the truth is that you are the master and you know your process best. My goal is not to tell you how to process, but instead invite you to see your emotions from a different perspective so that you may understand and embrace judgment (and yourself) fully (and with a whole lot of love).

Over the next four weeks we’ll walk through the following topics:

Week 1: Greet // Before we can begin to process, we need to greet judgement.

Week 2: Sit // Now that we’ve greeted judgement, we sit and better understand our reactions.

Week 3: Converse // Here is where we really listen to the stories and our bias around judgement and use creative writing to hold a conversation with the emotion.

Week 4: Goodbye + Gratitude //  It’s important not to overstay our welcome with each emotion. We take the time to process and we leave when it’s time, knowing there will be another chance to continue the conversation and learn more.

One you enroll, you'll receive:

  • All course materials through Teachable, including a PDF of each week’s process (with journal and creative writing prompts) and a video with my thoughts, support and insight.
  • An “open-lab” hour every Wednesday from 7pm-8pm EST. You can come with questions, writing to share or just to chat.
  • A playlist to get into the mood and help create the space to write from.

Details About the Workshop:

  • This course is a “go at your own pace” workshop and can be taken in your own time without any pressure. You'll receive all 4-weeks at once, but this workshop is a template — you set the pace and process.
  • This course is evergreen, meaning that it is yours forever!
  • I am accessible via email and usually respond with audio notes to talk you through whatever you need help with or support in.

Accessing the Course:

  • All course videos and PDFs are shared through Teachable. You’ll be able to sign up for Teachable prior to purchasing the course. Anytime you want to access, all you need to do is sign in through Teachable!
  • I recommend printing the worksheets or writing them out in your journal for easy access.

Why I Created This Space...

I spent my Saturday mornings writing instead of watching cartoons as a child and quickly learned the healing power in storytelling. As a sensitive creative, I always found curiosity in my feelings and embraced them as old friends — some, who I felt overstayed their welcome and others whom I never wanted to part from.

At the age of 17, I found myself in a deep depression with suicidal ideations. Through therapy and healing, I witnessed firsthand the importance of meeting with one’s emotions without attaching judgement or getting lost in their message. I noticed, too, how society was quick to dismiss emotional intelligence and self-care and how detrimental that was for the people I loved (including myself).

I soon started writing and sharing what I found when I met with these emotions — what our dwellings and time together consisted of — and found that others could relate and connect in a way that is only possible when we embrace that which is an essential part of us.

This workshop is created to hold space for others who want to connect with themselves and their emotions on a deeper level and in a grounded manner. My hopes is that you learn to love yourself unconditionally and give yourself permission to be human — understanding that all emotions are beautiful and whole in nature — just like us.This workshop was created to help you cultivate a road map (that works for YOU) when processing your emotions, in particular, judgement. Personifying to Process will guide you through creative writing exercises and journal prompts that cultivate your tool-belt of well-being and self-care through vulnerable and humble writing practices.
